JUNIOR RACE DERBI GPR 150 RUNS - 23rd JAN 2010
The New Derbi GPR 125 made a double debut in Australia at the weekend in two separate locations, at Junior Rider development days.

Derbi Racing

In Mount Gambier, SA, young hot shots Matt Barton and Zack Zanesco gave the very sexy GPR 125 its first run in anger and both expressed surprise and delight at the handling of the machine straight out of the box. The GPR was running in standard trim and not full race trim as yet without the race 150cc Motor and exhaust and so comparative times were not possible. However initial indications in relation to handling, and braking were extremely positive, and braking and cornering speeds were impressive.

At the same time another standard GPR 125 was also on show and doing some laps at Morgan Park raceway in Queensland.

The Full GPR 150 Race version is expected to run in late February in Victoria in the hands of Matt Barton and Zack Zanesco, whom are expected to campaign the bikes during the 2010 season. The GPR 150 is available for $7,250.00 from Derbi plus optional spares packages.

DERBI GPR 80 JUNIOR GP BIKE ON TRACK - 23rd JAN 2010
After some very brief and tentative appearances during 2009 the Derbi GPR 80 Mini GP bike has been out on track again last weekend, being run by Chris Barton Racing (Victoria) at Mount Gambier.

The GPR 80 ran for the first time with a set of new slick racing tyres and after some preparation and setup work by CB Racing, Matt Barton and Zack Zanesco were able to lap within tenths of the Metrakit 80 (2009 version), despite not having time to try different gearing setups that may have been more beneficial. There is no doubt however that the bike was competitive and could offer a very good alternative in the Junior 80cc 2 stroke category.

Derbi Racing

We expect to make an announcement regarding availability and costs in February for the 80cc Race machines. Watch this space for something very exciting.
